78 Surah An Naba – The Great News
In the name of Allah, the entirely Merciful, the especially Merciful
- 1) “What are the disbelievers asking one another about?”
- 2) They are talking about the Great News of the Day of Judgement
- 3) Over which they disagree
- 4) Surely, they will soon know the reality of it!
- 5) Yes! For sure they will soon know!
- 6) Did Allah not make the Earth as a floor?
- 7) and ˹made˺ the mountains as ˹its˺ pegs
- 8) And Allah has created you in pairs
- 9) and made your sleep a means of rest,
- 10) and made the night as a cover,
- 11) and made the day for working and earning
- 12) And Allah built above you seven mighty ˹skies.
- 13) and placed in them a shining lamp, burning brightly
- 14) And sent down pouring water from the rain clouds
- 15) Through which Allah grows grains and vegetation
- 16) And gardens full of greenery
- 17) Surely, there is a time fixed for the Day of Judgement
- 18) It is the day when the Horn will be blown and you will come forward in crowds, groups after groups.
- 19) The sky will split open and gates will appear in it
- 20) and the mountains will be blown away and they will be moving, you will see them strong in front of you and then they will just disappear.
- 21) Surely, Hell has been lying in wait
- 23) Where they will live for endless ages
- 24) They will taste nothing cool in it, nor any drink,
- 25) except boiling water and oozing pus—
- 26) Their punishment will be fair and just according to their crimes.
- 27) They thought they will never have to answer anyone for their actions
- 28) And they totally refused the signs of Allah
- 28) And they totally refused the signs of Allah
- 29) And Allah has recorded each and everything they did in writing
- 30) It will be said to the disbelievers, “ Now taste the punishment! for now all you will get is more punishment!”
- 31) Those who fear Allah’s displeasure and do good deeds, they will surely have reward
- 32) Of Gardens and grapes
- 33) And companions of equal age
- 34) And cups filled to the top
- 35) They will not hear in there any vain talk, nor lies,
- 36) This will be a fitting reward as a generous gift from Allah
- 37) Who is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything in between, the Most Merciful. No one will dare speak to Him
- 38) On that Day the Angel JIbrail and the other angels will stand in rows. None will talk, except those granted permission by Allah - the Most Merciful and whose words are true.
- 39) That is the Day which is sure to come. So whoever wishes to, let them follow the right path.
- 40) Allah has surely warned you of a punishment which is near- the Day when man will see all the actions he did in the world, and the disbeliever will say: "Oh, I wish that I were dust!"
